Player testers are players who have been approved by the wizard staff to visit the dev server for purposes of bug testing and related pursuits. They are generally trusted players who have a good relationship with the staff and have proven their ability to handle the trust required for dev server powers and access accordingly. Note that player testers are not beta testers. They typically test existing content when there is a suspicion of bugs and are usually not called upon to screen new content or features before release. Player testers are subject to certain guidelines about what they can do on the dev server (See: HELP DEV SERVER TESTING). Those wishing to become player testers should contact a member of the wizard staff about their desire. This should be an existing wizard with whom the tester already has a good relationship, typically with whom the player has already worked on debugging issues in the past or who has dealt with many reps from the player, so they can vouch for the player's competence and trustworthiness. The player's name will then be cleared by other staff members. Additional instructions on how to access the dev server and use testing tools will be made available upon the application being approved. |
