JOMSVIKING GUILD HELP __________________ Well-trained Jomsvikings are pure killing machines. They are highly skilled in the use of weapons, and their brute strength allows them to deliver punishing blows. They abandon their own safety with full-force attacks and trust in their dedication to keep them alive. Though many observers attribute their fury and fierceness to sheer barbarism, those that understand the Jomsvikings know that they fight with religious devotion. Jomsvikings are trained in the art of rune carving and have access to many powerful magics through this ancient practice. By appeasing Armagg-odhin with their many kills and invoking the power of their Runes, the Jomsvikings use more than just pure physical strength. It is this power that makes them so feared and nearly unstoppable. JOMSVIKING SKILLS/SPELLS (Up to level 14) ______________________________________ Attack: This is the fundamental skill of attacking. Fortunately, the knife is easy to obtain with crude weaponsmithing. Rune carving is a very important aspect of being a Jomsviking. It is what seperates this guild from any of the other melee-oriented guilds (ie: fighters or fallens). By taking the time to carve up your equipment, as well as store runes used for our spells, you will fare much better in battle. You may find that you cannot train your rune carving as high as most other skills, or maybe you can train them higher. This is because they are religious skills, and the maximum level of training is based on your spiritual skill max. This is why it is important to choose a race with a fairly high (60%+) spiritual max. Also note that Jomsviking is a bulk 3 spiritual guild. This means that any armor you are wearing that is over bulk 3 will reduce your spiritual skills and spells by 4% per slot. If you have bulk 4 armor, it is best to remove it before using the carving skills. Jomsviking spells are powerful. We do not get many, but each one we can learn is useful. Jomsviking spells are different from any other spells in the way that they require a specific rune. Every time you "invoke" a spell (you invoke spiritual spells, and cast hermetic spells) you will use a charge of the mentioned runes (read the specific spell's help file). Until you can train the reddening skill, you will need to carve multiple chips with the same rune. Tattooing a component will take up an armor slot, however. JOMSVIKING RACE SUGGESTIONS: ------------------------ You will definitely need a high skill max and a fairly high spiritual spell max. Good Strength and Constitution is highly recommended. Dexterity will help with rune carving skills. The Jomsviking guild is not aligned, so racial alignment is not a factor.
