Such an ability leaves the victim stunned, drained of spirit and mortally wounded. The power itself is incredibly taxing on the monk as well, draining him, as all chi powers do, of both endurance and spell points. It can only be used to start combat since concentrating long enough to initiate the power takes time and concentration. Note, you must be within the Monk's required alignment range to use this skill.
